Raúl Martín
Chief Portfolio Officer
Professional Summary
Holding a Degree in Software Engineering, an Industrial Engineering background, and an MBA in Sport Management from the UAX & Rafa Nadal Academy, I bridge the gap between technical execution and executive strategy. My PMP® certification and expertise in Scrum Fundamentals allow me to design PMO structures that ensure high availability in critical systems while maintaining the flexibility required for the rapid-response environments of international competitions. I specialize in setting up PMOs that prioritize our clients with the pillars of value-driven decision-making, sustainable impact, and transparent stakeholder communication.
My professional journey, which began at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, has provided me with a comprehensive, 360-degree vision of the technology ecosystem required for global events. I offer deep consulting expertise across the entire project life cycle—from Initiation and Planning to Execution and the critical Dissolution (decommissioning) phase. Having served as a Delivery Manager, Product Owner, and Programme Manager, I possess an intimate understanding of the transversal relationships between TSR (Timing, Scoring & Results), Venue Results Management, Broadcast IT, and GMS (Games Management System). This holistic perspective ensures that every technical silo is integrated into a seamless, resilient operation where system uptime is the absolute priority.
I bring over two decades of experience delivering mission-critical projects under immovable deadlines across four continents. My portfolio includes senior leadership roles at the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Sydney, Beijing, London, Rio), the Asian Games (Doha, Guangzhou, Hangzhou), and multiple cycles of the Pan American and Central American & Caribbean Games. This extensive fieldwork has forged my ability to manage complex Venue operations and TOC (Technology Operations Center) workflows. Whether acting as a consultant for national federations or international committees, my focus remains on risk mitigation, customer satisfaction, and the flawless delivery of technology services in environments where there is no second chance.
